Invisalign is one of the simplest smile-enhancements you can choose! It uses a series of clear, removable, and comfortable aligners that allow you to smile more during treatment as well as after. Invisalign clear aligners are made with 3D computer imaging technology and have been proven effective.
At New England Dental Care we start the Invisalign process with a 1 on 1 consultation with you. We listen to your desires and goals for your smile, teeth, bite, etc. And we design the Invisalign treatment based on your wants and needs.
Invisalign typically moves your teeth more quickly than traditional braces, and it does so invisibly.
Am I a candidate for Invisalign?
At New England Dental Care, we use Invisalign Clear Braces to:
correct crowded and crooked teeth
close gaps and spaces
correct misaligned bites
help reduce gummy smiles
fix protruding teeth
and many more smile defects.
Why would I want it?
Not only are the aligners virtually invisible, they are removable, so you can eat and drink what you want while in treatment. Plus, brushing and flossing are no problem. They are also more comfortable than traditional braces, with no metal or wires, which also usually means you spend less time in your doctor's office getting adjustments. Invisalign treatment also allows you to view your own virtual treatment plan when you start so you can see how your straight teeth will look when your treatment is complete.
How does it work?
You wear each set of aligners for about two weeks, removing them only to eat, drink, brush, and floss. As you replace each aligner with the next in the series, your teeth will move — little by little, week by week — until they have straightened to their final positions. You'll visit us about once every six weeks to ensure that your treatment is progressing as planned. Total treatment time averages nine to 15 months and the average number of aligners worn during treatment is between 18 and 30, but both will vary from case to case.
What do I need to do after Invisalign Treatment?
Like any orthodontic treatment, you will need retention in order to keep your teeth in the ideal position created by your Invisalign treatment. Invisalign offers a new type of retainer that works better than the traditional, bulky, orthodontic retainer. With the Invisalign retainer system, your teeth will stay in the final aligned position because you will have a new, fresh retainer mailed to you very 4 months. Another good option is to have a permanent retainer (wire) bonded behind your lower teeth, and use the Invisalign night-time retainer for your upper teeth. Your dentist will know which is the very best option for you to retain the gorgeous smile achieved through Invisalign invisible braces.
